Okay, there’s more and more talk about recession, inflation, downturn in the economy, etc. Seems as if it’s going to get worse before it starts to get better. Personally, from talking to my clients, I think we’re already in a recession but I don’t think the government wants to use the bad “R” word just yet. They’ll wait and hang it on the next president!
Either way, whether we’re in one or not, are you waiting to react to it or are you already taking steps to survive it?
One mistake many small businesses make is that they don’t take the time to prepare. It’s easy to see why, small businesses are inundated with work. One or a few people are doing the work of 20! There seems to be no time to sit down and prepare! But, it’s so extremely important to the success of the business, really!
If you’re waiting, don’t. Gather your employees, friends, colleagues, family members, whatever and begin brainstorming ways to generate extra income. If you sell batteries retail, consider adding wholesale. If you specialize in treating eating disorders, consider adding nutritional services to your list. Whatever it is, begin thinking about the different ways that you can use the products and/or services that you already offer.
If you’re beginning to prepare, good for you. I’m sure you’re busy writing blogs, articles and brainstorming ways to sell outside of your comfort zone.
